From its start over thirty years ago, Geisenheimer Agency has distinguished itself by providing personalized service for business clients too small to be noticed by the big agencies. Over time, the agency’s service model allowed it to attract even larger accounts seeking an enhanced level of service.

Alan Geisenheimer opened his agency in 1972 after working seven years at New York Life. Though the agency rarely advertises, it has seen a steady growth in business each year for over thirty years, sometimes as much as 20%. Much of this growth comes from client and professional referrals.

Most impressive of all, the agency boasts an enviable 95% client renewal rate. Mr. Geisenheimer attributes the high retention rate to the agency’s superior service. More nimble than its large competitors, Geisenheimer focuses on commercial and residential real estate accounts, as well as manufacturers, wholesalers and importers. Clients have come to expect a level of attention they’d never get from the big agencies.

Looking for an insurance foothold in the northeast, Empire Insurance Holdings, LLC (EIH) acquired Geisenheimer’s assets in 2006; the company’s third major acquisition. About 90% of the agency’s policies are commercial, including a unique niche in the real estate insurance market.

The agency now employs fourteen, and continues to operate from its office in Fair Lawn, NJ under Alan’s management.
